Map Styles

Difference (DTM)

High pass filter applied to 1m DTM [1]; flattens terrain and shows only features less than 20m wide. Coloured in greyscale with features ≤ -0.5m as black, and ≥ 0.5m white.

Useful for seeing earthworks such as old hedges and walls.

Difference (DSM)
Similar to Difference (DTM), but filtering large DTM features from the last return DSM [2]. Where tree cover exists (found using [3]) it falls back to Difference (DTM). Coloured in greyscale with features ≤ -0.5m as black, and ≥ 0.5m white.

Created because some ancient features (in paricular hut circles) are removed from the DTM. However current field boundaries cause some visual noise.

Hillshade

Flat Hillshade

Difference (DTM) but rendered as a hillshade, rather than a narrow relief. This eliminates overshading on slopes, and makes features easier to see.

"Turbo" colour scale releif in 5m bands from 0 to max height in region.
